Community Youth Development envisions communities (geographic, communities of interest or organizations), in which the entire community takes a role supporting Youth Development. This includes obvious players like schools, recreation centres and youth development agencies; and less obvious players like the municipal government, libraries, volunteer fire departments, or the corner store clerk and cross-walk guard.
Community Youth Development also envisions young people as mobilizers and actors at the heart of Community Development. Many young people are already changemakers in their own ways, and with support all young people can have meaningful roles in building resilient and vibrant communities and organizations.

Brian has worked with HeartWood Centre for Community Youth Development for over 25 years. He was on the team that researched and developed the Framework for Community Youth Development (Circle of Awesomeness) in 2000. Brian delivers:
